Nangle Videography 2010 Showreel

Andreas Wiig tipped us off to this video that Whitelines Magazine posted from UK film maker Will Nangle. Since some of us in the US are probably not familiar with Will, here's what they had to say about him: "He's the smiley Scottish chap you see at events with the fancy camera and a big old tripod. Nangle, along with Tom 'Mack Dog' Elliot and the 9 Milli Media crew, has been leading the charge for British snowboard film making. In fact we were stoked enough on his work to ask him to create our Jib Vid edit earlier this year. Will got in touch with us today to let us know about his new showreel which he'll be touting out to would-be employers. We're not sure about the arty fireside shots (you looking for work with a golf resort Will?) but the snowboarding - featuring the combined talents of Andreas Wiig, Pat Moore, Nick Sauve, Andy Nudds, Billy Morgan, Danny McCormick and more - is BANGING! WL is excited to see this new generation of UK filming talent coming through and we hope it will spawn a next level British snowboard movie in the near future. Word on the street is that a project of this nature might just be in the pipeline."

Hana Beaman At The Meeting In Aspen

Vans Team Rider Hana Beaman attended The Meeting in Aspen, Colorado over the weekend for a showing of Standard Films' The Storming and to get in on a little pre-season fun. Snowboard industry members attended premieres, parties and actual meetings to discuss thrilling topics like social media, just in case the traditional blog/tweet/email blast formula is too complicated to grasp. Snowboard Magazine even posted some photos of riders like Hana and Stevie Bell getting loose on the dirt bike track, even though they spelled Hana's name wrong and labeled one photo "Speachless". Speach? Who's running the spell check over there these days? Anyway, there are some cool photos from the whole weekend on www.snowboard-mag.com , even if they don't know how to spell. Big ups to Hana for her killer season last year; we can't wait to see what's in store for this winter!

Hana Beaman On The Cover Of Snowboarder Magazine

Diaries Downunder Episode 4 - Mt Hutt Road Trip

Our main man Nick Pooch has been tearing up the Southern Hemisphere for months now. He tipped us off to another video about a road trip from Queenstown to Mt Hutt with some help from backpacker campervans. Absinthe Sphere Of Influence Tour

The Abinsthe Films Sphere of Influence Tour is on the road right now and hopefully coming to a town near you. On Saturday, the Absinthe crew rolled through New York City and premiered their new film "NowHere" to a packed house at NYU's Cantor Film Center. A portion of the ticket proceeds benefited Stoked Mentoring and like every stop of the tour, there were prize giveaways including free gear and YES snowboards. Riders from the film like Nicolas Muller, Bjorn Leines, and Annie Boulanger were on site signing autographs and chilling with the fans, and although Vans Team Rider Wolle Nyvelt was on the Europe leg of the tour, his presence on film was felt by all. His No Board section of the film is ground breaking—you'll have to see it to believe it. Forum's "F'IT" Movie Tour

Transworld Snowboarding posted some photos from the premiere of Forum's latest film, "F'It," featuring Vans Team Rider Andreas Wiig on a very limited basis. With his injury last season, Andreas didn't get a lot of filming time in, but rumor has it he makes a cameo in the film. Add that to a list of heavy hitters like John Jackson and Pat Moore, and you got one hell of a shred flick. Markus Keller and Cheryl Maas in Nitro Team Movie

Peep the teaser for Nitro Snowboards new team movie, "Turn On, Tune Out, Drop In," featuring Vans Team Riders Markus Keller and Cheryl Maas ripping up some Euro snow. No word yet on how the movie will be released, but hopefully they will just post in online for all the world to see. Nitro has plenty of talent on their squad, so no doubt the full length feature will be something worth watching. Big ups to Markus and Cheryl for holding Vans down in Europe, and congrats on the video project.

Transworld Catches Up With Andreas Wiig

As Transworld Snowboarding puts it, "The Viking Is Back!" Or so they say in their latest interview with the Norwegian ruler, back in action after a season-ending injury cut his winter short last year. After a nasty fall at the X Games, Andreas suffered a severe sprained ankle that sidelined him for over five months. But Andreas is healed and healthy and has been spending some time on the snow this summer, preparing for his return to the elite ranks of shred. Congratulations to Andreas for a full recovery, we can't wait to see him on the hill again!

Zac Marben in People's "Cheers"

Oakley Headquarters in Southern California played host to the world premiere of People's "Cheers" last week to a packed house of some of snowboarding's finest. All the pro shreds and industry heads were out in force to support the stellar lineup of snowboard legends like Jeremy Jones and J.P. Walker, as well as the next generation of rippers like Joe Sexton, who closed the film with a rail heavy barrage that both of the elders would be proud of. The movie also features Vans Team Rider Zac Marben, who came through with a stylish section despite a mid-season injury that took him out of the game early. The movie has a great soundtrack to accompany mind blowing backcounty parts from Shaun McKay, Eero Niemela and Mikey Rencz, as well as some amusing special effects that lighten up the mood and make for a truly enjoyable watching experience.
